Our Team


​Susan Johnson MS, DVM

Susan earned her M.S degree in Reproductive Physiology in 1996 and her DVM degree from Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001.  She spent 2 years in a mixed animal practice in Vermont before joining Riverbend Veterinary Clinic in 2003. 
In July 2017, she purchased Poultney Veterinary Hospital. She is very excited to join the Poultney community and looks forward to meeting clients and their pets!
She has a special interest in internal medicine and reproduction and enjoys working with dog breeders in all aspects of canine reproduction.  She also continues to be the herd veterinarian for a large alpaca farm in VT, and hopes to be able to offer large animal veterinary services to the local community in the near future.

​Michelle Brennan, DVM

Dr. Brennan joined Poultney Veterinary Hospital in October 2017. She graduated from Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1998, followed by a 1 year small animal medicine and surgery internship in San Diego. Since then Dr. Brennan has lived and practiced in Southern California until recently, when she and her family relocated to Vermont.  Having been born and raised in New York, Dr. Brennan feels that moving back to the northeast is "returning home".
​Dr. Brennan's special interests in veterinary medicine are dentistry, surgery and ultrasonography. She is excited to have joined the team at Poultney Veterinary Hospital and is eager to become part of the Poultney community.


Tabatha Lyman

​Tabatha has been with Poultney Veterinary Hospital since September 2004.  Since joining PVH she has filled many roles including kennel assistant, technician, office manager and overall "go to" person and really enjoys interacting with clients.  Between growing up in Poultney and working at Poultney Veterinary Hospital for so many years, she is familiar in one way or another with every person that comes through our door. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband and son, her 2 dogs, Ruckus and Rusty, and her cat Reagan.


Cindy Williams

Cindy has been a veterinary assistant with Poultney Veterinary Hospital since March 2012. Cindy enjoys making a positive difference in the lives of not only animals, but their owners as well. Cindy's special interests in veterinary medicine include anesthesia, surgery and laser therapy. She plans to expand her technical abilities by becoming Fear Free certified and receive her light/laser therapy certification. ​She enjoys spending time with her 2 children and her pets, which include 4 cats and 1 dog.


Amy Campbell, CVT, VTS (ECC)

Amy joined the team at Poultney Veterinary Hospital in November 2017. She graduated from Becker College in MA in 1998 with an Associate in Science, Veterinary Technology. She worked primarily in emergency and critical care veterinary medicine, becoming a member of the Academy of Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Technicians in 2005 and is a veterinary technician specialist in emergency and critical care. Upon relocating to Vermont from Massachusetts in 2017, she was happy to join the PVH team.  Her professional interests include trauma, anesthesia, dentistry and teaching.  When not at work Amy enjoys spending time at her Vermont home with her fiance and pets, and attending local music festivals. ​


Faith Douglass

Faith has been a veterinary assistant at Poultney Veterinary Hospital since 2011.  She especially enjoys working with dogs and cats that are nervous or sick, especially those that need a little extra "TLC".  She enjoys spending time with her large extended family on the "family farm".

Dakotah Heuckeroth

Dakotah is completing her senior year at Poultney High School and will graduate in June of 2018. She has been a veterinary assistant since April of 2017. Besides working at Poultney Veterinary Hospital, Dakotah enjoys hunting, being a member of 4-H and showing dairy cattle at local fairs.  Het pet family includes 2 dogs, 4 cats and 1 rabbit, as well as a plethora of farm animals! She will attend College of St. Joseph in the fall to study radiology with a goal of becoming a radiology technician.


Rebecca Rainville

Rebecca earned her B.S degree in Animal Science from SUNY Cobleskill in 2012. She has been with Poultney Veterinary Hospital since November 2017. Besides working at PVH, she raises pasture raised meats, enjoys hiking, hunting and spending time outside with her dogs Vinny and Dixie.
